Africa Continental Champs 2011
The Journey:
left KZN on wednesday evening and we drove through the night non-stop into thursday morning. When we finally arrived after our 15 hour journey, we unpacked as fast as possible and just chilled for a while before checking out the XC Track!
I loved the track, it was very technical, fast, rocky & fun!
Race Day:
I woke up bight & earlly, jumped into my awesome Team Jeep kit, quickly swallowed my breakfast, and loaded the bike onto the car...I had ADRENALINE pumping through my veins...(didn't know what to expect because it was my first Africa Continental Champs) We took a quick drive to the venue and I jumped onto my bike for my warm up and felt calm - it was time!
Standing at the start line I felt a sense of pride to be standing there in my Team Jeep SA kit - it was to be my first XC race in Jeep colours!

I felt really good during the race, loved the challenge of the rock and the climbs and the fast and technical downhill single track.
Awesome race, a great experience and very privileged to be amongst SA's best!

MUDMAN #1 HERMANSBERG
Had a great race today at the Hermansberg Mudman, I managed a second place overall in the ladies.
Started off coming 7th overall after the swim & 5th in the woman, came out of the transition zone 3rd out of the ladies, at the end of the cycle I was sitting in 1st with 2nd place just behind, just didn't have the legs for the run, but managed to keep a firm 2nd place overall in the ladies. (half swim)
I'm very happy with my result after a hard week of f sport.
I cant wait for the rest of the events in the series.
Congratulations to all the Team Jeep SA Athletes, all up there today!

SALOMON XR CROSSMAX DOOR TO TRAIL
Today, after my meeting with Bex at Athletes House, I received my new Salomon XR Crossmax (DOOR TO TRAIL SHOES).... Perfect or just that!
Went to Midmar to take them for a test run and AMAZING....is all I can say!
