Mikaela Jonsson: SA XC NATIONAL #3 (ADDO)

I left home a on Thursday evening and arrived in Addo, Eastern Cape on Friday morning.

I went out and rode the track, I absolutely loved it!

On the start line

I was very happy to see such a large turn out in the ladies competing, about 30 of us lined up on the start line from Youth-Veterans.

It started off with winding steep uphill single track and then a winded down onto small rock garden and the a steep log drop.

A long climb awaited us and then we turned down a technical section with a big rock garden.

Next was a bridge section, and then a 2km winding downhill tree tunnel which was pure awesomeness.

Followed by a more bridges and fast single track!

I had a great race and I was very happy with my 1st pace in the Youth women and I was ecstatic to place 3rd overall in the Juniors aswell!

Well done to Morne who placed 2nd in the Youth.
